Laboratory diagnosis is one of the priorities of medical practice which is in constant development in Ukraine and abroad.  Clinical  diagnosis, monitoring of the efficacy and safety of drug therapy are impossible without laboratory  findings.

In the conditions of market relations and competition, the need for highly qualified professionals, who can orient in difficult diagnostic situations and meet the high demands posed by contemporary reality is increasing.


Since  1994 National University of Pharmacy has been providing training in Laboratory diagnosis in the field of Medicine of  educational level Bachelor. In  2012 it was planned to train laboratory physicians with educational level Master.


In the classroom, the students have the opportunity to learn up-to-date medical equipment and methodology of examination. Each practical class has character of  research experimental work, expands the horizons of students, makes it possible to acquire practical and theoretical skills necessary for future professional activities.

Most of the thematic sessions are held at large specialized hospitals of Kharkiv and clinical diagnostic laboratories of research institutions such as Grigorieva Institute for Medical Radiology, Sitenko Institute of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Regional Clinical Hospital, City Clinical Hospital No. 2, City Children's Polyclinic No.23. This allows to familiarize students with the specifics of work in laboratories in various fields.

Graduates of this specialization are eligible to work in different laboratories: clinical diagnostic; clinical biochemistry; clinical bacteriology; clinical parasitology; clinical immunology; laboratory genetics; clinical laboratory cytology and laboratories of forensic medical examinations.

The priority of National University of Pharmacy is to train professionals in the field of laboratory diagnosis, which own clinical mindset, well informed in medicine and  pharmacy. With this purpose, the university develops new syllabi, replenishes an arsenal of educational literature with methodological guidelines.

To push the specialist in laboratory diagnosis closer to the patient, to the level of understanding  the processes occurring in the human body  is our ultimate goal.
